It does a great job charging and maintaining batteries. Used it on a lawnmower battery, gate battery, spare battery and a friend's car battery. It seems to have improved the batteries capacity!THIS IS NOT A TOY!

Pour recharger batterie de l' automobile, fonctionne bien et facile d'utilisation. Plastique pas trop solide. Il faudrait peut être aussi ajouter un bouton on/off

Be forewarned, this is not promoted as a jump starter, although, as stated on the product description, “…with its quick charging capabilities, you can easily recharge your battery and get back on the road in no time.” Primarily this is a slow trickle charger that will revive a weak battery. But you can practically remove the worries of a weak car battery at the worst of times with this portable charger. Charge it up and keep it on board to be prepared when that fateful moment arrives. Easy to use and……Do you have one of those neighbors whose car always seems to need a jump when the weather is cold or rainy and you don’t want to get dressed to move your car and mess with al those positive and negative cables? This little charger is the solution you’ve been looking for. Forget about dealing with moving back and forth to position the charging car and just use this handy little pack.I had a specific reason for ordering this portable charger. My neighbor’s car has been sitting idle all summer because of a weak battery. He wanted to move it cross town for winter storage so we used this charging pack on his battery to see if we could get it going. Well, upon receipt of this kit, I plugged in the charger to get it to 100% and that took a little less than a half hour. We hooked it up to his battery just the way you would when charging car to car. The positive and negative cables are easily identifiable (red and black, respectively) and the clamps grabbed on tightly.Operation is pretty straightforward, simply choose the mode you wish to use (choosing from Car (regular auto, SUV, truck, etc.), AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat battery – check your battery’s label or your vehicle’s manual), MOTO (motorcycle), or REPAIR. Hook up the cables and start the charger. You get a fairly good set of instructions to follow to make sure everything goes as planned. The 30-page user manual is full of details and information but, especially for senior users, the print is very small so make sure you have your best set of glasses on hand when you start to use it.It took us just under a half an hour to set up and complete the charge on my neighbor’s very weak battery. I suppose we could have cut down on that time if I had used the charger before and was more familiar with it but the process itself was kind of slow. When all is said and done, the charger has a decent amount of heft to it but it doesn’t feel exceptionally strong or durable. I don’t plan on dropping it any time soon, so I hope its durability (or fragility?) won’t come into play in the near future. The digital panel is clear and easy to read. As I stated, I have only used this one time and specifically for the purpose of getting my neighbor’s car running, so I can’t say for certain that this would work every time for every one. I suppose that’s where the expression “Your mileage may vary” comes into play. For the price (especially with the optional 5% Amazon discount coupon at the time of this review) I suppose this is a good idea to have on hand if you have a car with an iffy battery.

I was interested in this charger for it's repair function. What I didn't know what's how much of a pain smart chargers are.If your battery voltage is too low (under about 11 volts) this charger won't power on to charge your battery. You can trick it into kicking in with a good battery, or using another charger to get your battery voltage higher, but this is a real pain. That being said, this issue is not limited to this charger - it's all modern smart chargers.I am still experimenting with the repair function, but it seems best used on a still working battery, not one that has been sitting for ages. The build quality is so-so. That's not really a bad thing, especially considering the price. The terminal clips aren't too hard to open, but aren't so weak they fall off the terminals, they're sized well and shaped well. The plastic case is average. Not likely to survive a big drop, but not so cheap I am scared to use it. The AC power cord is probably the weakest point. It is very thin and feels cheap. The power cord is also really short. Thankfully it does seem to be copper and not steel as a magnet doesn't stick to it.Value-wise, it's not a bad deal, and probably a good piece of kit for most people to have. So, in summary, it does what it says, but there's a lot of asterisks.
