SAE Short Circuit Connector with LED Indicator is mainly used to detect the presence of voltages and signals in SAE cables.
1.Distinguish between positive and negative voltages at the SAE harness port under test.
PEAK. Insert the tester into the SAE port of the SAE harness under test.
3. When the LED panel of the tester glows, voltage is present in the harness under test.
4. When it is confirmed that the tester is connected correctly and the LED panel does not glow, there is no voltage in the harness under test.
5. The voltage of the tested harness is within the range of 3-36V.
6. Note: If the polarity of the SAE port to be tested does not match the polarity of this tester, it is necessary to use a polarity reversing connector to convert the polarity before testing accurately.

I have multiple sets of SAE cords, and not all of them are straightforward in terms of their setup, so having this device is helpful for those instances when I need to double-check.It's a little confusing that it turns red when you have the correct polarity, but as long as you know that when the light is on, everything is good.I appreciate that it comes in a set of two, along with the polarity reverser. The rubber overmold is well done, and the tester is easy to install and remove. The light is also easy to see.It's an excellent value, helps prevent mishaps, and is reasonably priced for the set. It's easy to recommend.

PROS:* The solid molded devices are well made.* The devices worked as expected.* I appreciate that the design allows LED status viewing from both sides of the device.* A pair of status devices are included in the package.* An included polarity adapter is useful to confirm that the circuit is live, but needs a polarity correction.CONS:* Perhaps it would have been useful to emboss on the LED status device the "+" and "-" symbols to the respective male and female terminals.SUMMARY:These are simple, compact and robust devices that quickly indicate whether your SAE wiring polarity is correct. They should last forever as long as the SAE connectors remain a relevant standard.
