So disappointed- the rubberband snapped the moment we put it on. I had a chin chum for 2 years and we never had this issue

This is one of the best investments I've made for my viola. It is incredibly comfortable, soft, with just enough give, and it doesn't slip on my chin rest.

Ordered this because I took an allergic reaction to the nickel in my chin rest, it works wonders! It makes practicing much more comfortable and is a really good quality.I have a central chin rest, on which this fits, and the elastic band reaches across my viola without snapping

I played violin through elementary, jr high, and high school and thought the "violin hickey" was just from bad skin and not showering enough. Turns out it was because I was having a bad reaction to the wood/varnish of the chinrest. I recently picked this up and have had no further issues. At the time of this review, this was the cheapest chinrest available with prime shipping. It's extremely easy to put on your violin, just loop it over get to playing! It's soft (well, much softer than wood)!I really appreciate the color: it actually goes with the orange/red/brown-ness of your violin; and for the price, might as well give it a try.2 YEAR UPDATE: I've been using the same chinrest for two years now, and its held up beautifully. You'll notice a lot of people who play their violin a lot develop some scarring below their chin - this will definitely help to prevent that (and if you've already developed it like me, it'll keep it from getting worse!)
