By this bell for anyone in your family that is hard of hearing. It will ring so loud their dentures will fall out! This bad boy rattles the floor and any glasses you have on the table. If you wanna wake up the whole neighborhood or just your family, this one will do it! Buy two in case you have neighbors you don’t like! This will really get their attention!

This amplifier works. My 95-year-old mother lives on her own yet (thankfully nearby) and has significant hearing loss. She takes her hearing aids out at night when she sleeps & can't hear an alarm clock, so I call her on the phone on particular mornings during the week for appts etc. Her phone is right beside her bedside table, but she was starting to not even hear it ring, which would worry me. I read the reviews on this amplifier and appreciated hearing that it's not cheaply made and yet was reasonable in price. I had to move her phone base with her answering machine from her office to her bedroom, as I wanted the amplifier on her bedside table (the connection points are on the main phone base rather than a handset charger). Experimented with the 2 volume settings when she took her hearing aids out, and she decided on the louder setting. I have now been able to wake her up with a phone call and she says when she's sitting in her office with the other handset nearby, the phone noise startles her a bit and makes her jump. She's convinced all of her handsets are now amplified, but I'm thinking she's just hearing the amplifier unit from its speaker, as her bedroom is nearby. She hasn't mentioned the flashing light on the unit when a phone call comes in, so at least for her, it's the loud noise of the amplifier that wakes her in the morning. Really glad I got this.

Added this to the Future Call FC-2804 Big Button Phone for SeniorsWe had found that dad could not hear the phone over the tv or see the flashing light.Installed this and dialed the phone while dad was in the other room - it got his attention.Only two volume settings - using the high now - and seems to work.Bought 2 50' phone lines to run the flasher/ringer over by the TV and then back to the phone by his chair... Next trip down I will move the ringer/light to by the tv so the flasher is in his line of sight when the TV is on
