It is nice as a keep sake but was very disappointed in the case, its very cheeply made an will not last if your actually wanting to use it. It should have an actual real leather case for it. Other then that I do like the look of it, it has an antique look to it which I like. I also like the inscription but...."find my way back to you" would be even better.

Very nice compass. Very rustic looking,the leather compass bag looks traveled. The engraving is clear and precise. Makes a great gift for anyone that likes hiking,hunting,fishing etc.....

I bought this for my grandson's Grade 8 graduation. I have carried a compass with me most of my life, having been involved in orienteering and such over the years. This was a more solid product than I expected, it has a nice weight both in compass and chain. The case resembles leather (not sure if it is) but it is just lovely in itself. There is a slide adjustment to lock the needle in place during transport and easily pushes back for use. For the price I thought it a great and memorable buy for a lifelong keepsake to remind him of me, his Gran!! :-)
