Like its predecessor, the Wyze Cam v3 lets you see and record 1080p video right from the Wyze mobile app. New to the Wyze Cam v3 is its water-resistant design allowing for outdoor installation with an IP65 rating. The Wyze Cam v3 also takes advantage of an all-new Starlight Sensor which allows for extreme low-light performance and shows great detail in the dark. With the Wyze Cam v3's color night vision, night time video recording appears as if it’s day time.

This is my 4th Wyze WIFI camera which I use to monitor the perimeter of my home. Great features and quality in such a small package. This version 3 has a slightly different mounting point and I'm not impressed with the single point to attach a screw for outside installation. We have high winds, squirrels and birds and it would be easy for them to knock it out of position when installing under the eaves. However, the features and simplicity of operation make this an awesome purchase. I really like the favorites option where I can view up to 4 cams on my Android phone on one screen. I don't know if this version 3 is RTSP enabled but I won't be using it in this manner. No constant streaming without a subscription but it responds quickly to send alerts to my phone with high quality screen shots. Love the announcement that says : Hi, you're currently being recorded. Great deterrent for prowlers. Highly recommend these Wyze WIFI cams for indoor or outdoor live monitoring.

The Wyze Cam v3 is an excellent security camera, offering impressive 1080p video quality with great color night vision. The setup was super easy, and it integrates seamlessly with the Wyze app for live streaming and motion alerts. The color night vision feature is a game-changer, providing clear, vibrant footage even in low light. I’ve been using it both indoors and outdoors, and it holds up well in various weather conditions. For the price, the quality is unmatched—this camera offers great value and peace of mind. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable security camera!

I've had this cam for a couple of weeks now. I bought it for my apartment balcony because someone was using a barbecue at night several times a week and the fumes were blowing into my windows. Barbecues are prohibited in our lease. I needed a good night vision camera to find out who it was. When I first got the camera I was very impressed with the crystal clear picture quality for both day and night. The motion detection is sensitive (it detected the bird in my photo). I also liked the many features in the app to configure motion sensing, for example you can set it to detect human activity, pets, etc. This camera is designed to be installed in many ways. I ended up using cable ties to strap it to an old speaker stand on my balcony. As soon as I installed the camera, the late night barbecue ninja stopped polluting my apartment. So they make a good deterrent. I also enjoy using it to see the view from the balcony. But tonight this camera really proved itself. I was watching TV and the cam's alert sound started going off every minute or so. I checked the event footage and saw that a balcony 100 meters away on the floor below me was completely engulfed in flames! Also, I could zoom in and see a person moving around among the flames. I could see that they were waving their arms around trying to get the fire under control. The camera had detected both the movement of the flames and the person on the balcony. This camera also has a web view feature, so I opened the footage on my large PC monitor which allowed me to see more details.I called the fire department and they got here within a few minutes. By the time they arrived, the balcony was engulfed in white smoke. I wasn't sure which apartment number it was, so I went out to meet the fireman and showed him the video alerts from the camera on my phone. He was impressed with the clarity of the video footage which allowed him to find the apartment quickly. Luckily when he got there the tenant had put the flames out on their own. The fireman told me it was a barbecue fire, which is why they aren't permitted here. He also told me I did the right thing by calling them. Tomorrow the landlord's getting an email with some interesting video footage.I'm so impressed with this camera that I'm planning on buying another one. Right now I have a competitor's camera system indoors (Blink), and they are vastly inferior to the Wyze cameras with a far more expensive subscription. I will eventually replace them with Wyze cameras as well. I also recommend the Wyze subscription, it's inexpensive and packed with extra features to configure the camera and its alerts.

1. Cameras have excellent video quality both day and night, and the P65 rating is a must. Our temps range from -40C to +40 C, so cams that aren't P65 rated won't last long here.2. Just to make it clear, they need a power outlet. They are not battery powered.3. The Cam Plus subscription is a must if you want to be able to get a notification and immediately see what's going on. Without Cam Plus, you will get a notification every time a tree limb moves, a shadow of a tree moves, or a moth buzzes the camera (which happens constantly at night), so the notifications are useless. Cam Plus makes it so you only get a notification when a person, vehicle or pet appears, allowing you to have notifications on but not be notified all night due to moths. If you don't care about responding to notifications and your cams will be high enough that a crook can't steal them and their memory card, you'll be good with just the cam and a memory card to record events.4. The software works incredibly well and is very easy to setup. My only wish is that, when viewing a live view of a camera, I should be able to swipe left to go to the live view of the next camera, as long as I'm not zoomed in. As it is, I have to click back, back again, then tap the next camera to see its live feed.5. I've wanted security cams for years and this is the first one that combines the excellent imagery, the P65 rating, and the affordable price. Great job Wyze!

I used the Wyze cam v3 as a security camera, I've installed it outdoor for 2 weeks and it's working just fine. The USB cable which came with the camera wasn't long enough to reach the outlet, I had to use a 16 ft USB extension cable. I was worried that the power drop of the long USB extension cable will cause a problem, but it seemed to work just fine. The camera has been reliable, it has been able to detect all people and vehicle movement, day time and night time. Wyze use pixel comparison to detect motion, as a result, any light reflection detected by the camera will trigger a notification. About 70% of the notifications are "false triggers" due to reflections of headlights from cars driving by. You can reduce those "false triggers" by setting the detection zone to a smaller area of detection, but in my case, I still get a lot of "false triggers" from light reflections. To get around the problem, you can subscribe to Wyze's Cam Plus service, which only cost less than $20 per year. With Cam Plus, you can select to get notifications from triggers by people, vehicles and packages. Without Cam Plus, you get 12 seconds video clip cloud recording with a 5 minutes cooldown period. With Cam Plus, you can have cloud recording of the entire video clip which triggered the camera.I put in a 64GB microSD card in the camera, you can set it to do continuous recording or motion triggered recordings. I have tried both settings and they work reliably.Wyze has Starlight feature, which means that you only need a small amount of light and you can have amazing color night time recordings. The night time video quality is so nice that I disabled the IR setting so I can get color night time videos. Even though the video quality is great, it's still just a 1080p picture quality camera, so don't expect to see license plate and facial pictures very clearly (I guess if you install the camera at eye level, you'll be able to see better. I installed mine under the eve trough, pointing downwards from about 8 feet from the ground). There is one thing I hope Wyze can fix in upcoming firmware updates. In order for you to "View Playback" from the SD card, you have first go to "Live View" so the camera can complete authentication before you can view playback video from your SD card, otherwise, you'll get a "no micro SD card installed in the camera" error message.Overall, I am happy with the Wyze camera. It's been reliable so far and have not gone offline by itself yet. Outside temperature has dropped to -2 deg C and the camera is still working fine.Edited after 1 month's usage. Sometimes the camera will go offline and you cannot do Live View or Play Back from the SD card. The only way to solve fix that problem is to power cycle the camera. During the 1 month's usage, I had to power cycle the camera 3 times already. Now I am wondering if the camera is a quality product or not.New Edit: I've had the wyze cam for a whole year now and it has survived the Canadian winter without any issues. The continuous recording to the SD card feature seems to be hit and miss. Even with the latest firmware, the recording will stop once the SD card is full. I have to format the SD card before the continuous recording will work again. It'll be nice if Wyze can send some sort of notifications to indicate the SD card recording is off will be helpful. Overall, very happy with the camera. I highly recommend it. Wyze has come out with Wyze Pro, with 2K resolution, can't wait to try that out.
