This unit works so great. Fill the dirty back, hang it on a tree, and open the valve. I wish I had got this unit sooner. It is so easy to use and is very effiecient. I love using it! Get one, change your filtering! 🙂

Don't leave home to go hiking without it. Very convenient and light.

Perfect for solo camping or for up to maybe three people with repeated fills, this filter packs up small and flexible in its included pouch, and the flow rate is good, filtering your water quickly by gravity. I love that I can use it waterside, or stick the detachable collapsible water bladder in a pocket, hike to the water source to fill up, then throw it over my shoulder by the integrated strap to filter water back at camp. The filter unit just attaches inline to the hoses, and looks to me like a standard Sawyer or Miniwell cartridge, so replacements will be cheap and easy to find if you can't re-order from Platypus. The adapters allow you to full different size bottles, from narrow-necked disposable soda bottles, to Sigg insulated stainless steel, and Nalgene or cycling water bottles, or into a clean water bladder.Cleaning is a breeze, and its easy to backwash the filter when you get home. This filter is perfect: light, easy, flexible, affordable, with the confidence of safe water available on the go to lighten your pack.

This is my second Platypus filter I have purchased. Ended up using this exclusively on a backpacking trip with 6 others. They had their own filters but this one was the most convenient. Just fill it up and watch it drain. Have used in various water sources. Doesn't remove tastes or some of the color but I have never gotten ill off the water that came through it.

Easy to assemble and (almost) impossible to get it wrong. I like the fact that the instructions are replicated within the travel case. Much faster flow through than I expected.

Works perfectly. Great water flow and easy to clean and put away. Will look into getting a larger dirty water bag as the 2L is great for 2-3 people.

Easy to use and very fast. I let very silty water from the Little Missouri River in ND sit overnight and then filtered it without any problem. Worked great adapting to varies sizes if water and Gatorade bottles so I don't miss the extra clean bladder of the complete kit. I've never owned a pump type filter and see no reason to try one now that I have this gravity type. Anything I filtered tasted fine. Great system.
